When you need large amounts of Cryptocurrencies, it's a good idea to use a reputable exchange like Bitstamp.

A bank wire is a good idea for large amounts of money as you will only pay a fixed fee for the entire amount. Here is the procedure to do the deposit through a bank wire using Bitstamp:

Login to your Bitstamp account and look for Deposit at the top menu:

Then select International Bank:

 Then fill the form:

If your bank wire is coming from your Canadian Bank in Canadian dollars or Euros or any other currency then choose the right value under currency box. After you enter all the values, then hit Deposit.

A form will show up with all the values that you need:

Print that form and go to the bank with it. Give it to the teller and tell him that you want to do a bank wire with those instructions.

Last time that I did this transaction it took 24 hours for the money to show up in my Bitstamp account, but beware that it could take up to 3 business days.
